What if furniture became a source of sound? That’s the challenge we’ve taken up with the sound-enhanced Joyce footstool: a piece that combines traditional craftsmanship, timeless style and contemporary technology.
A reinvented footstool
With its round silhouette and spindle legs concealed beneath twisted bangs, the Joyce pouffe is one of the highlights of our collections. Very popular at the moment, it embodies the discreet elegance and refined comfort that characterize the house. This sound version takes it to a new level, without sacrificing its aesthetic appeal.
Integration thought through to the last detail
Our integrated design desk orchestrated this project, working closely with our craftsmen. The challenge was to conceal a Sonos Move 2 loudspeaker in the volume of the footstool, completely invisibly, without altering the line or feel of the furniture.
In concrete terms, a custom-designed wooden structure houses the speaker inside the pouf. It is wrapped in a layer of wadding, then covered with an acoustic fabric that allows sound to diffuse freely. A grille surrounds the unit, itself concealed behind this technical fabric – invisible to the eye, but essential to sound performance. A removable cover, perfectly integrated into the design, provides access to the interior for recharging the speaker or making any adjustments.
Sonos quality, housed in exceptional furniture
The Sonos Move 2 speaker was not chosen by chance. Renowned for the richness and precision of its sound reproduction, it can also be recharged and controlled remotely. The sound-enhanced Joyce footstool thus becomes a real space-structuring element: beautiful to look at, comfortable to use, and capable of dressing up a room with music of audiophile quality.
